Class Struggles Are Real...or Maybe Not?

Hello friends!

Sometimes I feel like registering for the actual classes rather than taking them is more difficult!

Who is this professor?

Will it be a hard class where I feel like I'm drowning in the three+ textbooks they assigned, or is this going to be an easy A?

Or my favorite, I have no idea what the title of this class means, but I guess I need it to graduate?

Working a full-time job and also a part-time job (I'm sure any job in general) puts the stress on to full blast. Not because I will not have a life (I have already accepted that a long time ago) but because it is always my luck that the class I need does not have a time slot to fit into my other schedules, and I always get super pumped when I find a class I know about or will like, and it is on a random day at a random time and I just think to myself of course! I guess that's college for you. However sometimes that time slot works out and I get fortunate to not have to work at all that day (insert mischievous laugh here).

My major is communications. I never really understood why people asked me what that was when I was in high-school or first starting college because I obviously knew what it meant but to others on the outside looking in, it can mean SO MANY different things. Here is just a simple list of many job opportunities that Communication Majors can have.

Scheduling for the classes that actually connect to your major sometimes feels more "relaxing" because at least you will know there is a higher chance of you enjoying them. All through-out high school I did everything and anything I could do related with TV/Video Productions and radio. I love filming and editing.

When I first started college I attended my town's Community College. Butler County Community College (BC3) did not have an actual TV/Video program so I fell back on to the Communications Program, and have continued my degree at Slippery Rock University (SRU). I have gotten to take so many interesting classes, and journalism classes in particular, has opened a whole new world to communications for me.

My classes just began and I am currently taking a class called New-Media Journalism. I, at first, chose it because like all of us we always need this class and that class to graduate. However I can't wait to see how this class will unfold, because it is not like news print journalism which I feel like when we hear journalism we think of newspapers and items and things along the lines of that, so I am excited to see how different social medias and this class will relate and help me in the future.

Where do you get your news?

A more traditional media outlet I like to use is Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's website. Its news is close to home, but covers everything that is important in the world as well. Also because I can get the news stories quick and easy and everything is very well organized.

A new media outlet that is more convenient is Yahoo News. I use my yahoo email more frequently than other ones (gmail, hotmail or school email) so it's easier to find news with out having to go to different websites.

Who else has any classes they're actually  excited about?

Comment down below  so I can see who else thinks the struggle is not always real!
